People from Beemer are employed in a variety of occupations at a variety of places including: Attorneys, CPAs, appliance stores, hardware stores, the nursing home, restaurants, the bank, the medical clinic, hospitals, lumberyards, diesel repair, insurance agencies, and convenience stores. Beemer residents are also employed at farming, cattle feeding, hog feeding and trucking operations. Some Beemer residents also drive to surrounding communities to work.

The Village of Beemer is governed by a Board of Trustees - four, each elected to a four year term. The Trustees elect a Chairman of the Board and they appoint a Police Chief. Beemer is also served by the Cuming County Sheriff's Department with a deputy in Beemer. Beemer has access to the county-wide 911 system which is located in the Cuming County Courthouse in West Point. Beemer has no Interstate Highway or Limited Access Four-land highways although we will have one in the next few years as Highway 275 is being rebuilt as a limited access four-way highway. Beemer has one Federal and one State improved two-lane highway. It is 34 miles to Interstate I 29 and 30 miles to the nearest four-lane highway which is a section of Highway 275 which runs through Beemer.
Beemer is served by four interstate and four intrastate motor freight carriers and is 1-2 days from Chicago and 2-3 days from Dallas by this method of transportation. The nearest public airport is 60 minutes away in Sioux City, Iowa. There is also an international airport, Eppley Airfield in Omaha, NE which is 83 miles away. The nearest railroad is 21 miles away and is the Burlington Northern & Santa Fe.
