The Beemer School System, School District Number 55, is a Class I elementary school affiliated with West Point Public Schools. With a low teacher/pupil ratio, the students are provided the attention necessary to ensure a quality education. The school�s first goal is to have every child reading at grade level by the end of third grade by using scientifically based reading approaches, programs, and assessments. In addition, it emphasizes the importance of early learning by providing a preschool.

All surrounding towns and cities offer preschool through grade 12 schooling. West Point has a Lutheran preschool, Lutheran grade school, and Catholic grade and high schools.

Northeast Community CollegeNortheast Community College

Beemer is part of the Northeast Community College service area that includes the 20 counties of northeast Nebraska. The main campus is located in Norfolk, 32 miles northwest of Beemer, and off-campus centers are located in communities throughout the region.

As a comprehensive community college, Northeast also works with area industries, retail and service establishments, agriculture and other agencies and organizations in planning in-service and in-plant training. Northeast has meeting facilities that include the capabilities for videoconferencing.

Northeast Community College works cooperatively with the University of Nebraska, Wayne State College, and other institutions so that upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses can be offered on the Northeast campus and throughout Northeast Nebraska through the Lifelong Learning Center.

Every year Northeast Community College in Norfolk holds Extended Campus Classes in the area. Credit or non credit classes in a large variety of areas are available.

Colleges and UniversitiesColleges and Universities

Wayne State College (WSC) located in Wayne, Nebraska, 30�miles northwest of Beemer, serves approximately 4,000�students from throughout Nebraska and Iowa as well as several other states and some foreign countries. WSC offers nearly 40�majors and minors. Masters degrees are also available in business and education.

Local students attend the University of Nebraska in Lincoln or Omaha as well as colleges and universities around the nation.
