There are other synods of the Lutheran church represented in the country around Beemer and in Wisner and West Point.
Beemer has quite a few clubs and organizations which include the Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary, the Beemer American Legion, the Auxiliary, church ladies groups, GFWC Beemer Woman�s Club, Indian Trails Woman�s Group, Elkhorn Valley Arts Unlimited, Community Club, Community Foundation, Beemer Economic Development, Wednesday morning Bible Study, card clubs, saddle club, canoe club, and the community theater group. Beemer has an active Senior Center which serves noon meals most days and offers a lot of activities for people who want to attend.

The Karlen Memorial Library, which is newly remodeled, contains 10,000�volumes including videos, audio tapes and talking books. The library has an average annual circulation of 5,000. The computerized library, with an interloan program, receives books from the Eastern Library System Info-Serv Van of Omaha. Internet is available at the library for use by the public. Library activities include a summer reading program for children and a story hour. The library also has equipment for laminating and pattern cutting. The library is located at 215 Blaine Street.
